Lucca-Inspiring the next generation

21st Jan 2010

It was my absolute pleasure to be invited last night to the Lucca Leadership dinner. This was s chance to meet participants who are currently doing the week long leadership course.
As I walked into the gorgeous Mahrata house I got a twinge of nostalgia. Just last year I was one of those participants and its amazing how much has happened it just one year. I learnt so much on the course and find myself using many of the techniques when dealing with every day issues.
It was great reconnecting with Lucca (the charity the KP label supports) and seeing where some of the money is actually going.

The participants that spoke did so with courage and clarity and I for one came away exited. They spoke of depression, self doubt and conquering these concerns to now go onto setting up projects, mentoring and helping those less fortunate. Too often the media represents this new generation as the “me” generation yet here are 30 young people wanting to make a change for their communities.

It is also about the small changes and I know I can have grand ideas that then never go anywhere except on a sheet of paper. So this week will be about the small changes such as setting up a recycling bin at the studio. One step at a time……
